Cats Don't Dance is an animation movie produced by Turner Feature Animation and directed by Mark Dindal in 1997. The film was launched in 1993 as a vehicle for Michael Jackson, who would produce, star, and be a consultant in the music and choreography, but it was ultimately made without Jackson's involvement. In 1939, Danny, an optimistic cat, dreams of Hollywood stardom, so he travels from Kokomo, Indiana to Hollywood in hopes of starting a career there.
