PABLO CARPIO – Freelance Concept Artist

This mentorship will be focused on guiding students through the understanding and creation of good compositions, based on different techniques and applied in different ways depending on the theme and style of each work. Apart from color, light and shape, students will talk about how to take advantage of our camera view, the characters in our images, the context of the action, etc.

MITCHELL MALLOY – Freelance Concept Artist

The best illustrators in entertainment inject a sense of gravity, mood, and energy which draws consumers and players into the world the art portrays. This course focuses on the skills essential to good image-making, and also on those skills which elevate an illustration to the next tier of professionalism.

BRYAN WYNIA – Senior Character Artist

Over the course of 8 weeks students will learn the process of designing creatures for films and games. Starting with a simple idea, gathering reference, sketching, concept sculpting, painting, and presentation. Not only will they lean the creative process but the thought process behind what makes for a memorable and effective design. At the end of the course students will have brought to life to 2 unique creatures.

SONA SARGYAN – Development Artist

This class is designed to get you up and running with Adobe Photoshop! Students will explore the basic yet powerful features of the application while also discovering the numerous possibilities of its digital tools.

NIK HILL– Senior Motion Graphics Designer

Covering the fundamental principles that go into making exceptional motion graphics – concept, design, animation, 3D design, rendering and compositing, this course has been created with professional output in mind. The key to creating outstanding work is nailing these three key areas – 1) Concept 2) Design 3)
Execution. This course will cover the core processes involved in conceptualizing and executing a motion graphics sequence – using tried and tested, industry standard methods.

JEREMY HUXLEY – Senior Environment Artist

During this course, students are going to create an environment for games, with a heavy focus on vegetation and plants. Students will go over the creation of plants, trees, rocks and a few blend textures, importing them into the Unreal Development Kit and composing a final, lit scene.

EHSAN KIANI – Technical Artist

The student will learn how to rig their characters in Maya, use Python scripting to automate repetitive parts of your setup, quick skinning techniques and tricks, adding real time physics and simulation to the dynamic parts of your character, and eventually replacing it with an unreal engine’s game template so you can play the game and test it out for yourself.

ANASTASIA OPARA – Procedural Artist

Within the first week, students will be coding simple vex snippets in the new wrangle nodes. As they advance, they’ll be making more sophisticated tools which leverage the latest features of VEX like
geometry creation. By the end of the course students will be implementing state of the art algorithms in multiple Houdini contexts from surfaces to simulations, shaders and even procedural values.
