Art of Star Front Gall Force

Star Front Gall Force is a photo novel with character designs by Kenichi Sonoda, featured on Model Graphix magazine in 1985 (It used detailed models that later set the stage for the animated films). Rabby, Patty, and Rumy were the only main Solnoid characters featured, and they were equipped with different uniforms, weapons, and vehicles than those shown in the regular Gall Force OVAs. Although it was the first-ever storyline to the Gall Force mythos proper, Star Front's place in the official continuity has been questioned and disregarded due to contradictions between it and Eternal Story. Although it is the actual origin of the franchise, it is now seen by fans as non-canon, or an alternate timeline. Another factor that causes question is the fact that fans outside Japan never knew of the photo novel's existence. The pictures on this page are a collection of artworks created for this photo novel.

The crew of the Star Leaf has quickly been reduced to only seven members in the fighting and they are ordered to travel to Chaos, a recently terraformed moon of Terra in the 9th solar system (this is before there were any humans on Earth). Along the way they are attacked by the Damoth, a Paranoid ship under the leadership of Commander Dohn. A strange monster infiltrates the Star Leaf and infects one of the crew…
