Thank you so much to ALL the artists of our community who have submitted their work for this challenge, to Enrique Fernández for accepting to be our juror this month, and to Character Design Quarterly, the official partner of the CDChallenge, which makes this project possible.

Special Guest Juror's Message

More than 1000 pieces of art to choose just one, a pretty difficult thing!

Just try yourself to do it and you will realize how hard it is. My concern was to find a single piece with the right balance of many things together. Usually my first goal would be to find a mix of a great technique ,a bit of storytelling  and a sense of illustration and innovation in style. But for this challenge I wanted to find something more, as being myself fan of the Zelda series I was searching for a sense of adventure and wonder. I believe this piece of Romain Barriaux has a great sum of all those things together, and that's the reason I choosed it.

But also would like to mention the art of many of you who had called my attention in many ways, sometimes for the charm of the approach, for the story, or for an interesting technique on the render: Léo Nezot, Laure Nitschelm, Anna Zolotuhina, Gorken Demir, Drew Hartel, Tan ZhiHui, Bob Gibson, Lisa Theresa Heine, Martí Furgber Morales, James A.Castillo Murphy, Seoro Oh, Mathilde Vachet, Antonio Reyna, Dan Root,  Noelia Diaz Iglesias, Pepe Delgado Navarro, Bruno Gondim Luna, Dean Heezen, Frenzy Fresher, Simon Duong Van Huyen, Suheb Zako, Abe Taraky.

All of the artists on this long list are the kind of ones that instantly makes me want to see some more art from them. And that's one great reason to follow this Character Design Challenges: you will never stop to learn from other artist's vision of the same topic, improving your own art with this process. I hope you enjoy from it as much I did being honored to be the guest juror.

Keep doing great art!

- Enrique Fernández
